This page is going to have information about me, my friends, my family, and random crap around me.

Gaze in awe at the new My Favorites page! It is ever growing with a list of my favorite stuff (stuff that would be listed on this page but I don't want to clutter it too much).

Uryan Russell Dorsey a.k.a. Hyper Angel Kaeverak

Born in Oklahoma and moved to Alaska a few months after I was born, I have lived in Anchorage all my life. I don't really fit into any of the High School clicks (but I do have friends, mind you!) but am progressing well.

Up until a certain event a few years ago, all the anime I'd ever seen was Voltron, Sailor Moon, and stuff that my step-dad watched on TV. By chance, I got up one morning and on HBO there was a movie playing called Guyver. It looked like a martial arts movie with monsters and a guy in bio-mechanical armor. When I was on vacation my aunt took me to a video store and I recognized the Guyver title on a few tapes. I asked if she could get it for me and she agreed. Apparently the store didn't review anime to give it an age limit (I was 11) otherwise my aunt wouldn't have touched that tape with a ten-foot pole. When we returned to her house I was treated to an animated sci-fi gorefest with some adult language. I was hooked.

Guyver is still one of my favorite series. I watched the Toonami time block on Cartoon Network a year or two before I got fed up with the obvious editing (you can only take Heero Yui saying "I will destroy you" so much, or Duo calling himself the Great Destroyer, and worst of all, Wufei yelling out "DARN IT!" after killing Treize). Then began my serious collecting of anime series.

I have a small library of many different genres of anime, some of which are fansubs. Some of my friends have been generous enough to loan me anime tapes and manga that I might not have otherwise seen.

Enough about anime (*gasp*). I like to draw and play video games. I recently got a Playstation 2 for my birthday and haven't touched anything else since. I want to become some kind of bigwig in anime when I grow up, so I have been looking into animation schools and other stuff. One of my friends was lucky enough to get a scholarship at the Toie Animation School (I don't know if I should say college or university). I'm hoping I can get something like that, so I've been working hard towards it.

I am a slightly pessimistic person and have a bit of a superiority complex. In other words, I don't often see the lighter side of things and I'm quick to place people on a rung where they fit, almost always beneath me. If a person shows no special quirk to me or an acceptable level of intelligence, I don't pay them much mind. So most of my friends are either smart or crazy (or both). I'm left handed (LEFTIES!) and have pretty much been drawing since birth. I often wear black jeans and anime shirts. My favorite at the moment is this really cool shirt with Dark Schneider from Bastard!! on it.

Oh, and yes, I really do own a katana.

Heh heh... Meet my woman (I actually would have preferred a picture of Dizzy). This is a scan of the cover picture of the Guilty Gear X soundtrack. Yes. I liked the music of Guilty Gear X so much that I bought the soundtrack (God bless e-bay). This picture has Millia wearing Sol's outfit (doesn't fit very well now does it?) and holding a really cool guitar. I also bought the Castlevania Symphony of The Night soundtrack.

This pic may look like crap, but it's because of my Dad's evil scanner. This is the best I could do.

Now it's time to meet my parents! My Mom stays at home, takes care of us, and spends our entire dividend. My step-dad is hard at work trying to get a better computer job (hospital politics suck). Umm... My mom is from the south and is tall. Uh-oh... I can't remember where my step-dad was born... Ouch. Well... Here's a picture of them after a wedding (my step-dad was the stand-in priest... what is the actual name of that position?)

Gaze in awe at my stuff. This pic will show you my Perfect Grade Wing Zero Custom model (took me about 85 hours to assemble) and my Rei statue (along with my dragon statues and Asuka statue). You can also witness the fight between the metallic painted Eva-01 and the 1/144 scale Gundam. This is the top of my entertainment center.

Home Pic #2

Ah, my Guilty Gear X figures. From left to right: Dizzy, May, Sol, Baiken, and Jam. These guys are a real pain in the butt to stand up (notice the tape?). I also have two crappy Gundam Wing figures (what a waste of money) and a really awesome Eva-01 figure. There is also the Ryoko "action" figure from McFarlane toys (what a piece of crap). The box on the far right is where I keep all the extra parts and stuff to my items on display. You can also see bunches of my books (Stephani Perry rocks!).

Home Pic #3

This is placed strategically above the head of my bed. This features the Final Fantasy figures I have (with the exception of the Guardian Forces) and the Rei Ayanami figure. People from left to right: Aeris, Laguna, Rei, Rinoa, and Tifa. Animals from left to right: froggy, chocobo, Rinoa's dog (I forget his name), and the almight tonberi! You can also see the edges of my Inu-Yasha and Gundam Wing posters.

The Gods of Anime Have Smiled Down Upon Me

Ever here the saying 'every dog has his day'? Well about two weeks ago, a friend of mine gave me a whole lot of anime. I mean A LOT of anime. We're talking like 150+ tapes. Why, you ask? Long story. This frined has parents who are into anime as much as (if not more) as her, and they have this HUGE collection of fansub tapes dating back many years. Recently, they have been upgrading their collection onto DVD and VCD. Whith all the DVD and VCD versions, they don't need the VHS version anymore now do they? They were planning on throwing this mountain of tapes out, but their daughter had a better idea (and if you ask me, it's a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better idea), why not give them to one of her friends who would absolutely love them (that's me)? So, we set up a plan for me to go over to her house and pick up these tapes. Now, I wasn't expecting the mountain of tapes that I got, so I had brought along this BP sports bag to tote them in. When I walked into her house, the first thing I saw was this bookshelf full of anime DVDs. A lesser man would have drooled a river. Then I was told to turn around. I was greeted to the sight of a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf of anime tapes, double-stacked! A lesser man would have had to change his pants. They also showed me a few episode of this absolutely funny series called Fruits Basket and some anime music videos (they have it set up so you can watch stuff from their computer on this huge TV).

Long story short, I was sent home with two boxes and my BP bag full of tapes. I am now the proud owner of several series that I have wanted to own, some I'd only heard a little about, some I've seen and was interested, and some stuff I've never even heard of (Violinist of Hamelyn?).

"So much anime, so little time."

Still more to come people. I hope to have pictures of my friends and Dad up soon.
